Make cleaning up after play or cleaning up a room more fun by putting on upbeat music, the kids like, and MAKING A GAME OF IT. Who can fill up their laundry basket with the most (clothes, toys, books, etc.) in 5 minutes? No music, set a timer for them to hear the minutes ticking away. Or, who can pick up (and assign a specific item and place for it to go, to each person) in a set amount of time depending on how big the mess is.
